Foto: United Airlines<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Flyselskapet United avsluttet en \u00e6ra med den ikoniske &#8220;Queen of the Skies&#8221; den 7. november 2017 med en flyvning som skulle gjenskape hvordan opplevelsen var i 1970 &#8211; komplett med stewardesser og kunder kledd i t\u00f8y og uniformer fra den gang.<\/p>\n<p>United fl\u00f8y sin f\u00f8rste kommersielle Boeing 747 flyvning fra San Fransisco til Honolulu den 23. juli 1970.<\/p>\n<p>United startet opprinnelig med \u00e5 fly til Honolulu i mai 1947 og dannet partnerskap med Trader Vic&#8217;s &#8211; en San Fransisco-basert Polynesisk restaurant som opprinnelig \u00e5pnet i 1934. De var kjent for bl.a. \u00e5 ha oppfunnet den popul\u00e6re rom og fruktjuicedrinken, Mai Tai.<\/p>\n<p>Som en del av deres &#8220;Friend Ship Four Star Service&#8221; til Honolulu i 70-\u00e5rene ga United passasjerene muligheten til \u00e5 f\u00e5 et tradisjonelt m\u00e5ltid eller et spesialm\u00e5ltid kaldt Trader Vic&#8217;s Adventures in Dining. First Class passasjerer fikk servert Mai Tai, Garden Salad med Javanese dressing, forrett som f.eks. P\u00e5 Business Class startet serveringen med en Mai Tai sammen med en cocktailsnack best\u00e5ende av Kailua svinekj\u00f8tt-wonton, kokosreker og varme macademia n\u00f8tter. Wilson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Salaten bestod av gr\u00f8nn salat, &#8220;heart of palm&#8221;, tomater og solsikkefr\u00f8 servert med Trader Vic&#8217;s ber\u00f8mte Javenese dressing og King&#8217;s Hawaiian br\u00f8d til.<\/p>\n<p>Vi fikk tre valg til hovedrett: Baconsv\u00f8pt indrefilet med estragon saus, mos av sweet potato, gr\u00f8nne b\u00f8nner med mandler og stekte tomater. Det ber\u00f8mte kyllingebrystet med macadamia n\u00f8ttepanering, papaya mint marmelade, r\u00f6sti av tre slags poteter og Kona-ristede gr\u00f8nnsaker. Grillet Mahi Mahi og jumbo reker servert med kremet kokosspinat samt Trader Vic&#8217;s ingef\u00e6rsris med gr\u00f8nne l\u00f8k og gulr\u00f8tter.<\/p>\n<p>Jeg valgte indrefilet som var stekt til perfeksjon &#8211; akkurat litt mer enn medium rare. Estragon sausen passet perfekt til kj\u00f8ttet.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 Economy Class fikk passasjerene Mai Tais, macadamia n\u00f8tter, en rekecocktail til forrett og en tradisjonell Hawaiian Namasu salat. Til hovedrett kunne det velges mellom hoisinglaserte beef short ribs med mos av sweet potato og gr\u00f8nne b\u00f8nner med mandler eller Shoyu Hibachi kylling med Trader Vic&#8217;s teriyaki sauce, ingef\u00e6rris og baby spinat.<\/p>\n<p>Serveringen sluttet med dessert som var valget mellom Uniteds kjente sundae is eller en luau ambrosia parfait av mandarin, ananas, mini marshmallow, krem og ristet kokos.
